AI Builders

Replit Free Mode

faviconx.com

Amjad Masad (Replit 联合创始人兼 CEO)

faviconx.com

Garry Tan (Y Combinator 总裁兼 CEO)

faviconx.com

faviconx.com

Greg Brockman (OpenAI

faviconx.com

faviconx.com

Matt Shumer

faviconx.com

Guillermo Rauch (Vercel 联合创始人兼 CEO)

faviconx.com

Guillermo Rauch (Vercel 联合创始人兼 CEO)

faviconx.com

OpenAI has built the muscle of making long-term research bets:

Kundan Kumar: In my ~14 months at @OpenAI, one of the most surprising and genuinely wonderful things about it, has been the full leadership support for full-duplex models (gpt-live series), even when it seemed deeply improbable that they would work.

And yet, if they did work, it was obvious

I don’t promote other people’s courses often, but I want to recommend Hamel and Shreya’s top rated AI evals course.

Here’s why I think it’s worth taking:

1. A 4.7-star rating across 900 reviews, with students from OpenAI and Google, is almost unheard of on Maven.

2. They’ve completely revamped the course and added a 24/7 AI evals assistant to guide you through the process.

3. They’ve personally helped me improve my evals, and their advice is consistently practical, specific, and grounded in real experience.

You can watch my free podcast episode with them to learn more about their eval process before deciding:

The next cohort of their course starts September 5 and you can get 25% off with this link: https://maven.com/parlance-labs/evals?utm_campaign=peteryang&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=maven&promoCode=PETERYANG

.@sama says without YC, OpenAI never would have existed:
“The degree to which @ycombinator totally influenced everything that has happened in the last 20 years of the tech industry, startups, and entrepreneurship, I think, is only sort of understood.”
“The changes that YC induced in the whole ecosystem—more leverage going to founders, young technical founders having the ability to raise lots of capital, the ability to work on ambitious things without a very proven resume—I don't think OpenAI would've been possible.”

If your terminal ever gets into a 'bad state', like garbled outputs, you run 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚝. I noticed it was… oddly slow.

Turns out in 1979 3BSD's 𝚝𝚜𝚎𝚝 had a 𝚜𝚕𝚎𝚎𝚙(𝟷) to let mechanical printer-and-ink terminals 'settle down' 😂

I asked 𝚏𝚡 to write me a faster alternative in Zig. It takes 1ms instead of 1s. It was really cool to dive deeper into 𝚗𝚌𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚎𝚜, 𝚝𝚜𝚎𝚝, 𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚏𝚘, and the myriad ways in which your terminal can get… cursed.

It's legit fascinating how far back our technology stack goes, and how enduring good system design is, even with the occasional 'spider webs' you can find.

Check out http://github.com/rauchg/rst for a fun explainer (and some alternative solutions.)

ps: once you start using 𝚏𝚡, you'll notice slowness like this everywhere :D

this is f**king insane
a free github repo by Garry Tan (President & CEO of Y Combinator) with 127K stars just dropped his exact claude code setup
here is how you set it up:
1. run the setup script, it auto detects claude code, codex, kiro, factory or opencode
2. run /plan and it fires CEO → design → eng review in one command
3. run /ship and it opens the PR and closes the github issue on merge
save and bookmark this no matter what

True. Replit Agent completely replaced Claude CoWork in my day-to-day work. It's much more persistent and fastidious, and it uses code/software more effectively to complete tasks.

Nadia I: Founders, I highly recommend using @Replit Agent as your cheapest, fastest and most intelligent employee before you hire for admin tasks.

this is how I’m making the most of Free Mode on @Replit 👀
1. pressure-test an idea
before building, I ask Free Mode to find the smallest useful version:
“I want to build an app that suggests meals using ingredients people already have. Ask me what I haven’t considered, then define a version I could build this week.”
2. design the first pass
instead of trying to perfect everything immediately, I make a quick design prototype:
“Design a simple home screen where users can enter their ingredients and get three meal ideas. Keep it clean, friendly, and easy to understand.”
3. improve through iteration
once something exists, I use follow-ups to make one focused improvement at a time:
“Users weren’t sure how to enter multiple ingredients. Clarify the input, then suggest the next improvement.”
how are you using Free Mode? 👀

Whenever I look at a building wall with a random-seeming mix of two brick colors, I think about decoding it as a bit stream.

Surely a university building somewhere has put something meaningful in the pattern.

I'd like to try using AI to call customer support phone numbers using voice, navigate the terrible automated phone systems, and talk to a human to book appointments or cancel subscriptions.

What's the easiest way to try this?
